Double Negative & Exodus

I am currently working for Double Negative Visual Effects, another top tier VFX studio here in London.

I’m specialising in crowd simulation on the upcoming Biblical epic Exodus: Gods and Kings by Ridley Scott.
It stars Christian Bale, Sigourney Weaver, Aaron Paul, Joel Edgerton & Sir Ben Kingsley.
It also features tonnes of crowd work!
Take a little look at the trailer below:

Guardians of the Galaxy

Whilst working for Framestore I got to work on Guardians of the Galaxy, the new Marvel super hero movie from the creators of Iron Man and The Avengers.
The movie looks fantastic and the effects team at Framestore has done an incredible job so far. I’ll go into details about which sequence and the effect I worked on, when the film is released on DVD.
For now please enjoy these images and trailers.

Jupiter Ascending

Since October 2013 I have been working in the film department for Framestore as part of the FX team on Jupiter Ascending, the new film from the directors of The Matrix.
I will be able to go into further detail about my work once I receive permission, which is usually once the film has gone to DVD release.
Luckily though the time span from theatrical release to DVD release is much shorter than it was in the past.
Here are the trailers shown for the movie so far, both of which feature my work.

Trailer 2:

Sony: Four Times The Detail

Here is the last television advert I worked on as part of Framestore’s commercial department.
We were tasked with adding photorealistic petals to shots to enhance those filmed on set, to really bring together the image of a huge volcanic eruption of flower petals.
I worked on several shots simulating Houdini fluid volumes and the advecting particles by this to achieve the effect.
I was also responsible for tracking many of the shots. Given that the majority of the plates were obscured by thousands of petals, getting a solid solve was an extremely difficult job.
